Independent Agent and Partner

Joined Claremart at launch of retail property division. Due to various reasons, decided to accept an offer of a partnership at Michael James, Cape Town. Claremart instituted a High Court action in terms of a restraint of trade. After seven months this was dismissed with costs, but the opportunity at Michael James had passed. Was, however, involved in the creation and structuring of the Cape Town office of Michael James.

  • Enjoyed significant sales successes at Claremart.

  • Was involved in the re-design of Claremart's new corporate image.

Ukupha Security and Training (Pty)Ltd,

Managing Director, Director, Shareholder & Member

Established Seme in South Africa from the ground up. Was responsible for day-to-day management of the company. Established all new markets in South Africa, Egypt, Israel, Holland and various other areas. Was part of strategic planning in Australia and other areas. Took over the management and financial responsibilities of Ukupha. Took the group to the brink of listing with Coopers and Leibrand, Werksmans and TA Bank. The company was split and sold off after the death of a major role player, the cancellation of the privatised prisons program and the cancellation of the Cape Town CBD tracking project.

  • Introduced and helped developed new and effective technologies that are still being used today

IT and Projects Manager
Created and controlled database and networks (Novell). Tasks involved the automation of marketing and sales functions and creation of an “office in a box” which enabled international offices to be operational within two days of opening.

  • Implementation of a marketing plan that had a 62% response.

  • Established a fully integrated and automated marketing/sales/data management system using Telemagic

  • The successful relocation of the company to Australia
